Whole roast lamb and spit roast lamb

 

If you prefer lamb and are wanting either a Lamb Roast or Spit Roast Lamb in Yorkshire, Cumbria, Lancashire, Durham, Northumberland then Abbotside Events can provide you with some of this countries finest lamb. Our Lambs are all sourced directly off the farm where we are based in the heart of Wensleydale, where the hardy hill sheep spend much of their lives grazing the heather moorland and herb rich hay meadows.

 

Standard package :

spit roast lamb

  • A Dales Hill lamb studded with rosemary and garlic and slowly roasted with a red wine marinade.
  • Served with fresh bread buns, rocket and a minty yoghurt sauce;
  • Chef and assistant to help serve

marinating a whole roast lambWe are based on a traditional Dales Hill farm and therefore have access to some wonderful flavoursome lambs . We hang these for at least a week before cooking.

As with the pigs the difference between the roast lamb and spit roast lamb is the cooking method; the latter being done on a spit and the former in a large roasting tray. The tray roasting allows extra joints to be cooked at the same time. Cooking times are approximately 3 - 4 hours.

 

An approximate guide for catering would be :-

Formal dinner:- 30-40 servings per lamb

Bread buns / pitta bread:- 60-80 servings per lamb

 

As with the hog roast we can either cook at your event, deliver a ready cooked lamb or provide a DIY option.
