From formal Military weddings to funky themed alternate weddings, embracing many different cultures from a Muslim wedding in the Lake District to a Pagan wedding in the Dales. We have catered in Marquees, Village Halls, Farm Buildings, Sports Clubs, Hotels, Private Houses and Camp Sites.

We offer a wide range of service styles and menu items, from simple delivered buffet style Hog Roasts to formal silver service Fillet of Beef.

We have an excellent team of friendly helpful staff , all recruited locally (we don't use external agencies) and are familiar with our high standards and practices. Including very experienced Front of House staff who can provide advice on planning your day and also importantly coordinate service on the day.

 

Abbotside Events can help you reduce the stress of planning your wedding day, not only can we provide a wedding catering option that fits your budget and type of wedding, we can through our contacts arrange a wedding cake, fully licensed outside bar, disco, marquee hire, crockery and cutlery hire, furniture and linen hire, lighting and toilets should you need.

 

Hog roasts and spit roasts fit all occasions from an informal wedding to country house silver service. If your budget is limited in these difficult times a hog roast buffet can feed a lot of people in a very economical manner. Whilst hog roasts are our main stay we are fully equipped with conventional catering ovens and other mobile kitchen items to provide a wide variety of wedding breakfast menus, with a higher level of service perhaps starting with a Champagne and Canape reception followed by a four or five course waitress served wedding breakfast.

Pricing and Initial Enquiry

 

We do not have a set price list for a wedding as each wedding is treated on its own merits and as such we will endeavor to create the catering package that you want. If you can email a basic set of requirements we will respond as soon as possible with an initial quote, which can then be adapted to fine tune the various elements.

 

Useful information that helps with our initial quote will include:

  • Numbers
  • Date
  • Location
  • Type of venue and any facilities
  • Type of service - buffet or table served
  • Number of courses (canapes, starter, main, dessert, cheese, coffee)
  • Do you require tableware hire, a marquee, a bar, music, lighting, toilets.

Example one - Hog Roast Buffet

A more economical option for wedding catering, delivered ready cooked and prepared (if within 2 hours traveling - cooked onsite if not). A Chef and assistant/s will layout the side dishes for a buffet style service and carve the hog roast for your guests.

 

Main Course
  • A Hog roast marinated in cider and served plated with fresh baked bread buns with a cider and apple sauce, stuffing and crispy crackling.
  • Minted New potatoes (with butter, sea salt and mint),
  • Mixed baby leaf salad, (A combination of different salad and herb leaves)
  • Your choice of two further salads from our list (salads).
Dessert
  • Your choice of three desserts from our list (desserts)

Can be served on quality disposables or on hired crockery with extra waiting staff to clear tables.

 

Example two - Canape reception and Buffet Two Course Meal

Canapes provide an extra course and also work as a starter and the buffet style meal reduces the amount of staff needed helping to keep costs down. (If the canapes are cold items then everything can be delivered freshly cooked / prepared. Otherwise we can set up a field kitchen or use a venues kitchen to cook onsite)

 
Canape Reception
  • Your choice of four canapes
  • eg: Cream cheese stuffed Pepperdews; Smoked Salmon on Fresh Brown Bread; Mango, Chilli and Lime Cups; Mini Smoked Applewood Cheese and Sun Dried Tomato Tarts

 

Main Course

Example three - Canape reception - Buffet Two Course Meal (cooked onsite)

Option two can all be delivered ready roasted and prepared; however by doing some of the preparation and cooking onsite variations such as warm canapes, different meat options, roast potatoes, hot vegetable dishes and hot puddings can be added.

Canape Reception
  • Your choice of four canapes
  • eg: Smoked Trout & Horseradish Mini Yorkshire Puddings; Cream cheese stuffed Pepperdews; Bruschetta; Farmhouse sausage and mustard dip
Main Course
  • Spit roast beef (locally reared Topside, Sirloin or Fillet) slowly spit roasted with a herb and wholegrain mustard crust then served with Yorkshire puddings, a red wine onion gravy, and horseradish sauce. As an alternative we can serve beef as whole joints to each table with a carving board, knife, apron and chef's hat for a designated guest to carve. (or another meat option)
  • Roast potatoes and New potatoes.
  • Roasted vegetable (either warm/cold. Butternut squash, sweet potatoes, peppers, courgettes and red onions slowly roasted with fresh herbs, garlic and olive oil). (or another vegetable option)
Dessert
  • Your choice of three desserts from our list (desserts)

Example Four - Canape Reception and Five Course Table Served Wedding Breakfast

 


A more comprehensive service with your food cooked and prepared on site, waitress served at your table including our Front of House service and planning advice.

 

Canape and Champagne reception.
  • Canape selection and service of a reception drink (provided by yourselves)
  • eg: Roast Beef Mini Yorkshire Puddings; Smoked Salmon Blinis; Mini Oatcakes, Mascarpone and Chilli Jam; Farmhouse sausage and mustard dip; Morecambe Bay Spicy Shrimp Crostini
Wedding Breakfast
Starter
  • Your choice of a starter option or two served alternate.
  • eg Locally Smoked Trout fillet with a beetroot and watercress salad (see our other starters)

 

Main Course
  • Your choice of a meat option
  • eg Whole Dales hill lamb either spit or tray roasted studded with garlic and rosemary and cooked in a red wine and herb marinade served with a herb and red wine reduction gravy and a choice of mint sauces. (Can also be roasted in a Moroccan fashion with Harrisa and with cumin, chili, apricots, mint, coriander and citrus zest.

Served with
  • Two potato options
  • eg New potatoes and Roast potatoes;
  • A vegetable option or three salad options
  • eg Medley of seasonal vegetables - any three from (Fine Green Beans, Garden Peas, Broccoli Florets, Carrot roundels or jardinière, Roasted parsnip, Cauliflower florets) (see our other side dishes and salads)

 

Dessert
  • Your choice of one dessert option or two served alternate
  • eg Chocolate truffle torte and Tart Citron (see our other desserts )

Cheese Board
  • A trio of local cheeses served with grapes, celery and a selection of cheese biscuits

  • Cafitieres of ground coffee and chocolate coated mints
